Why JLS

The JUST LOOKING SINGLES Bracelet is the hot new way to meet other singles where you live, work and play. Just put it on and tell the world who you are. Single. Looking. Approachable.

The JLS bracelet is a great icebreaker, and conversation starter. Wearing the bracelet says I’m approachable and it’s ok to take a chance and talk to me.

One of the advantages of the bracelet identity is that you have the chance to meet someone face-to-face and see if you’re interested in exchanging information.

More people are choosing a single lifestyle now, than any time in history. Singles’ extremely busy and hectic lifestyles actually don’t give them as many options to meet new people. Jobs dominate their time. Singles soon discover that their network of friends and family is very limited.

All you have to do is put it on and multiply your chances of meeting someone new. Now, with JUST LOOKING SINGLES you’ll be seen, and see other available singles wherever you go. The bracelet gives you the chance to connect with others you find interesting or attractive, in the real world where you live.

Someone spots you from across the room. They are thinking, “married or not married? With the JLS bracelet they’ll know instantly.

  • Cast a wider net. Go out into the world. Don’t make your own coffee, go to the coffee shop, don’t wash your car, go the carwash. If you’re wearing your JLS bracelet you just might meet someone.
  • JLS is helping singles connect in the real world of dating. Fun, confident singles put on their bracelets and step out into the world.
  • Internet dating sites are great. Coupled with dating sites, your JLS bracelet is another way to increase your odds of meeting the right person.
  • Men usually initiate contact. Our studies show that men are appreciative of women who wear the JLS bracelet - they feel they have permission to approach and run less risk of being rejected.

Dating online takes a lot of time sitting in front of the computer- time not spent going out, meeting people. Dating websites seem to offer greater opportunity, but in reality singles have to sort through photos and stories that may be accurate or not.

JUST LOOKING SINGLES wasn’t created to take the place of dating sites, JLS believes that singles should have a total dating strategy, and wearing the bracelet is just one of the things a single can do to find dates.

Tell your friends, give the bracelet as a gift, and watch the JUST LOOKING SINGLES network grow. By spreading the word, you actually become part of the new trend that celebrates the singles lifestyle. So put on your bracelet, go out and have fun meeting other singles…and finding dates.

About Me

Gaye Cherry, newly single at the age of 43 found it difficult to meet new men. Whilst out exercising, shopping and generally just being out and about thought it would be great to be able to see if men were single or not without talking to them. Following on from the “Lock and Key” type parties in night clubs Gaye thought if they can do it at night why can't there be something for other times. After a Google search Gaye found the singles bracelet designed by Paul Mello.  The concept revolves around a unisex black bracelet with stylish silver identity charms. The main charm demonstrates the JUST LOOKING SINGLES logo of the ever searching ‘eye’. Smaller charms that tell more about you (dog or cat lover, star signs etc) are also available to customise the bracelet.

Founder

Founded by entrepreneur Paula Mello of Encinitas, California, JUST LOOKING SINGLES bracelets are the newest way to meet your ‘match’. Single men and women sporting the bracelet are simply letting other singles know that they are single, looking and approachable.

Paula Mello thought along the same wavelength years before. Sitting outside of Starbucks, she noticed an attractive, age appropriate man with a yellow band on his wrist. She could instantly tell he was health conscious and supported cures for cancer but was he single? Mello’s brain began working. "Wouldn’t it be ideal if he had on a bracelet that stated, I’m single and looking, don’t be afraid to talk to me?"

Mello spent the next six months researching the needs of single people. She learned quickly that the bracelet would increase their odds of meeting another single! Everyday events such as walking the dog, grocery shopping, coffee houses and book stores have never before proposed such potential. The JUST LOOKING SINGLES bracelet visibly identifies single people in the real world. It is the perfect ice breaker and conversation starter.

Founder Paula Mello is currently the co-owner of Crafty Productions, Inc., in San Marcos, California. With her two business partners Mary Hetz and Alice Beas, Paula founded Crafty Productions in 1990 using personal credit cards and family loans as their funding. The company originated from the beaded jewellery designs of Mary Hetz. Mary’s designs were consistently featured on models and movie stars in leading fashion magazines including Kate Moss on the cover of Cosmopolitan. Paula had the idea to bring (her sister) Mary’s designs to the do-it-yourself craft industry in the form of jewellery kits. With babies at their ankles and no computer skills whatsoever, the team managed to net $5000 their first year of business selling to only two small accounts. As Paula (known as the Idea Factory) continued to expand her ideas from jewellery crafting to all types of crafting, Crafty Productions steadily grew. In 1993, Crafty Productions was named Women Owned Business Small Business of the Year by the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce. Today, Crafty Productions owns and operates a 10,000 sq. ft facility in San Marcos, California. Crafty’s craft products can be found in over 4000 retail craft stores including Wal-Mart, Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics.
